<title>2) Serge around the pillow pieces and the zipper lap. Cut the zipper slightly shorter (about 1 1/2”) than the width of your pillow bottom and slide on the pull. Press the zipper lap in half lengthwise. On the pillow back, fold up and press about 3/4”. (I use the knuckle of my index finger as a guide so that I don’t have to stop, pick up a ruler, and measure).</title>

<title>4) Place the bottom of the folded back over the stitching on your zipper lap. Starting at the side seam, stitch close to the fold and RIGHT ON TOP of the stitching on the zipper lap. When your have stitched in about 3/4” to 1”, check to see if you have stitched over the zipper tape. If you are now on the zipper, turn at a 90 degree angle, stitch over the teeth to the other side of the zipper tape. On heavy fabrics or for extra strength, back stitch over the teeth. Sew the length of your zipper at the bottom of your pillow, making sure that the folded edge of the back stays over the stitching line on the zipper lap. The flap over the zipper usually is 3/8” to 1/2” wide. Stop just before the end of your zipper tape (about 3/4” to 1” from the end). Turn 90 degrees and backstitch over the teeth and finish off to the end of the pillow back.</title>
